“The idea of ‘La Houppette’ was always in my head, I always liked the idea of a good team offering good services at an inviting place. I started my career after graduating from college, in a two meter squared area at a hair dressing salon two doors down from ‘La Houppette’. After two years I moved in with my mother in a salon next door and combined beauty and nails together. After five more years with the help of my husband we made a further move to the next building round the corner and after three years of construction and furnishing, we managed to open up this bigger shop.
As for my achievements, I became a nail technician at the age of sixteen before entering college and I didn’t have any other jobs if not doing nails. After ten years I became a Master Educator with Harmony and also won 1st Place in Soak Off Gel Manicure in 2012. I am also proud to say that I won nail technician of the year from the Malta Fashion Awards in 2014. To further widen my knowledge on nail pathologies I decided to start B.Sc. Podiatry at University of Malta in 2016 and I’m using most of what I’m learning to even adapt it in the nail education that we offer at the salon. I also had education in using laser machine for vein removal, hair removal, nail fungus treatment from BioTec and Xlase.
‘La Houppette’ is my home, I spend most of my time here, I love what I do here and I love the people working here, most of them are my family, and those who aren’t become like family here.”
